More on Private
Lessons
What we can work on in private
lessons:
· You
pick the songs you want to learn, and we will learn them
together. We can work on your favorite songs
from artists like The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, John
Denver, James Taylor, Neil Young, Alan Jackson, Glen
Campbell and many more.
· Learn
how to figure out your favorite songs on your own using a
special ‘play it by ear’ technique.
· Chords
and Keys – learn about the ‘good guitar keys’ and the 25
chords you should learn to be a good guitar player. With
these 25 chords and a capo, you will be able to play
virtually any song in any key.
· Rhythm
guitar – learn to use a flatpick and a set of popular
strumming techniques that will work well with all kinds of
songs.
· Finger
picking – learn techniques like thumb picking with strumming,
alternating bass finger picking, and fingerstyle picking to
play all those beautiful guitar parts you hear in your
favorite songs.
· Learn
to play ‘chord based guitar’. This is the style used by many
of the best acoustic guitar players from John Lennon to Paul
Simon to James Taylor to John Denver and more.
Private lessons are available online using free Zoom or Skype video
calls to anywhere in the world. We will work together to
make a lesson plan that will get you up to
speed and learning your favorite songs and techniques fast.Online
lesson payments are quick and easy on PayPal using your credit card,
debit card, or PayPal account. Click on the PayPal button at
the bottom to buy a lesson. Online
lessons cost US $30 for 30 minutes or US $50 for one hour. I
usually give Zoom or Skype lessons between 3:00pm and 7:00pm U.S. Eastern
Standard Time, but this can be adjusted depending on time zones.
You
can sign up for one lesson to learn that special song or
technique, or get started on a weekly program if you want to
really get up to speed fast! It's up to you.
If you already have Zoom or Skype, you are ready to go.
Send me an email describing what you are interested in
learning on guitar to get started.
If you need
Zoom or Skype, read on:
How
it works:
All you need is a high
speed internet connection
and the free video calling software from
Video Conferencing, Web
Conferencing, Webinars, Screen Sharing - Zoom
or you can use
Skype |
Communication tool for free calls and chat which allows you to make free
audio and video calls from your computer.
When
I call your computer on Zoom or Skype, you will be able
to see and hear me on the call similar to what you see on
YouTube, and will be able to ask questions and discuss
everything using your computer microphone or headset. You
don't need a webcam on your end, but if you
have a webcam, so much the better as I will be able to
see and hear what you are playing too.
You can
get started with 3 easy steps:
1) If
you haven't already used Zoom or Skype, please download and test
your free Zoom or Skype software. After you are up and running,
email me and I will set up a time for a
free Skype call with you. Together we will test
your zoom or Skype video connection, make a lesson plan and set
up the schedule for your first lesson.
2)
Use the button below to pay for your lesson with your credit card, debit card, or PayPal account. PayPal automatically takes care of
currency conversions for those of you living outside of the USA.
3) I
will call you on Zoom or Skype at the agreed upon lesson time,
